Some Honesty

I have truly pinpointed why I have not been blogging as much. It's because it makes me feel absolutely materialistic and fake, and that is absolutely not who I am. I don't give a fuck what brand my shoes are, but on my blog I put the brand as if it's a citation requirement on an MLA style essay. I'm not saying anything real or of substance. I like wearing pretty outfits, I like posting pictures of them, but why is it not making me happy? The reason is because I am following the lead of every other blogger and not blogging the way I want. I give these lame little paragraphs of light air-head talk and get irritated at myself for not being able to come up with something more interesting. Perhaps I am angry with my own narcissism, my own lack of intellectual gravity. I don't want people to follow me just because my clothes are pretty or they want a follow back (god I can go on about how I hate this follow for follow thing). I want people to follow me because they genuinely fucking want to, and for no other reason. But would I follow me? I don't know. That's the end of my rant for now. -Isabella

Vacation is Over

Leather Jacket- Zara, Top- Thrifted, Overalls- Topshop, Shoes-Aldo
Hey guys! I am BACK! I took the longest hiatus after promising to post more, which I am not proud of. I just wasn't feeling the blog-y vibes, and the semester started which introduced a whole new layer of stress and business. I also very last minute decided to apply to an art school, so I spent a few days frantically putting together a portfolio, overnighting my transcripts, and hounding people down for letters of recommendation. But the waters have finally calmed, and I have made time to get some outfit pictures taken.
If it was up to me, I would wear overalls every day of my life. I need to start searching the thrift stores for an old pair that I can paint in. That is how I categorize my clothes: clothes I can paint in and clothes I cannot paint in, lol. I'm very sad to not be taking any art classes this semester. Without a class, I have a hard time finding time to create. I've worked on a few things here and there, but I haven't finished anything.
Anyways, time to practice my "growth mindset" in trig. Bye!!! -Isabella

Railroad

Coat- thrifted, Cardigan- thrifted, Top- Forever 21, Overalls- Topshop, Boots- Aldo
I AM ALIVE! I feel like I haven't posted in forever. I've been enjoying my vacation way too much. I've been sleeping to my heart's content and spending time with my love. I've been so lazy, but finally I am going to get down to business and respond to all the comments/emails from you guys as well as go back to posting more times per week.

I wore this outfit on the last day of finals a few weeks ago. I felt like a silent movie, the kind where the girl is trying to work on the railroad and do "boy" things. Does anyone know what I am talking about?

ALSO! I was recently interviewed on The Leather Fanny Pack! This was my first time ever collaborating with another blogger. Raissa is fanfuckingtastic, and so is her blog! Definitely check it out :D

Anyways, back to laziness- XOxox- Isabella

Vinyl, Baby, Vinyl

A couple of years ago, I bought a record player. For no reason at all, I just wanted one. I saved up all of my quarters, nickels, and dimes, rolled them until I had enough money, and gave them to my mom so I could use her magical debit card to order it online. At this time, records were not as popular as they are right now. I had to find my records in thrift stores or at Melody Records, the only record store I know of in Northern California outside of the bay area. They were hard to come by, but in the last 2 years or so, they are EVERYWHERE. Thanks to Urban Outfitters making it ~cool~ again, I can now buy records from UO, Barnes and Noble, even sometimes at Marshall's.
Records are relatively expensive, so my record collection is small and slow-growing. But here are some of my favorites :)
Lou Reed- Transformer was part of a lovely gift from my boyfriend Kaya this Christmas. In the back is The Velvet Underground & Nico.

All praise the Goddess. Thanks to my boyfriend, I got Honeymoon for my birthday :D

Lorde and Arctic Monkeys. My boyfriend also bought me Arctic Monkeys one day out of the blue. If you haven't noticed by now, my boyfriend is the coolest guy ever.

Scored this in a thrift store for 3 bucks

Here are some more records :) I have tons of The Beatles albums, and other old ones such as Led Zeppelin, The Cars, Pink Floyd, Gladys Night, Diana Ross, etc
There are always more albums to collect, stumble upon, or be gifted to me. I love record collecting, and I'll probably keep collecting for the rest of my life. Do any of you collect vinyl records? Which are your favorite? What's on your wishlist? Tell me in the comments below! Xoxox- Isabella

Happy Birthday, Jesus!

Flannel- my boyfriend's, Top- eBay, Skirt- Forever 21, Socks- Urban Outfitters, Shoes- Aldo
Happy Christmas!!! I hope everyone's holiday, whichever you celebrated this season, was wonderful! My holiday is currently in session, heheh, as I am writing this at the dinner table waiting for the food to be done. My mom is making an ~fancy~ fish soup. I LOVE seafood, like, LOVE. Gimme sushi and salmon and squid, I WANT IT ALL. I'm celebrating with my brothers and parents, we are preparing for the food coma together :) Afterwards we are going to watch season 1 of Rick and Morty, the dopest gift from my wonderful boyfriend Kaya.

This is the outfit I wore today in leu of the festivities; however, after going outside to take these photographs, I was freezing my ass off and promptly went inside and changed into jeans and my new slippers, one of my favorite presents I received. They have a little fluff ball on them; they make me feel like I have bunny feet lol. I've been starting to realize that I basically never change my shoes. I have worn these boots in sooo many posts. They are the best boots ever, for real you guys. I'll probably still somehow manage to wear them all throughout the spring and summer as well.

Anyways, enough of my jargon! Have a wonderful holiday everybody! Oh! and don't forget the Cold Moon tonight! It's the first full moon on Christmas since 1977. Xoxox- Isabella
